Freedom Fighters, Take Heart

All you Ron Paul supporters, step in off that ledge. It's not the end of the world, and it's not the end of the Ron Paul Revolution.

Just think about how far we've come in a few short months! Take myself for instance: Back in September, I knew hardly anything about the guy. But today, I have a "Paulmobile" - a blue PT Cruise with a magnet and stickers and a sign I hang in the front window. I park it on main routes where I knew there's a lot of traffic. I go door to door dropping off literature on lunch breaks, after work and on weekends. (This from a guy who used to not give a crap about any politics.)

And I'm just one of over 80,000 people who do similar things.

I'm sure many of you had never heard of Ron Paul just 6 short months ago. And much of this was accomplished without the help of the mass media. Let's leave the argument that the mass media is against our boy aside for a while and focus on the positives of the campaign.

With no major political or media help, we've raised as much money as any other candidate out there. We also have more volunteers than any other candidate. Through grass-roots efforts we've ran hundreds of print ads, many radio ads, probably dozens upon dozens of billboards, and heck we launched a blimp for crying out loud!

Through meetup groups we've been able to meet cool, intelligent people of like minds who want to help our country. If nothing else, this one factor alone makes the Paul campaign successful.

Remember that this whole thing is very new. It's weird that the concepts that RP is putting forward are foreign and revolutionary because they're the ones that founded our country, but that's the case. We've gotten so far away from our founding principles that these notions may take some time to catch on in many people minds.

Remember that we're the trailblazers. We see the way America should be going and get frustrated when other people don't. We want things to happen quickly, and have to understand that it may not happen overnight.

Ron Paul understands this and will fight for the long haul. If we're true patriots, as he is, we should be prepared to fight for the long haul as well.

Live free and prosper, my friends!

I liked so much of what he

I liked so much of what he had to say, and he inpired a lot of people with this campaign. If only he was pro-choice, I would have voted for him!

Great post John! I'm not

Great post John! I'm not losing hope but boy, lot's of others are! Perseverance! Eleanor

I too have been touched by

I too have been touched by Dr. Paul, not in the way he touches the ladies mind you (he's an OB/GYN you perv), but I do have a sign in my yard. That's saying a lot from someone who's only political view were, "We can do better than Bush, can't we?" I don't yet bring up my political views around others unless they start the conversation (usually), but once you get me started, watch out -- it's Ron Paul this and Ron Paul that. To quote my favorite RP sign, "Dr. Ron Paul cured my apathy!"

John, I can't understand how

John, I can't understand how any conservative could vote for John McCain. In my opinion he's a traitor to the party. Ron Paul's message is powerful and right on the money. He brought it forward at the worst possible time with a woman, a black and fomer baptist minister, not to mention a war hero, getting much of the media attention and shattering the vote. Yeah, I feel bad today. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow.

True Jersey Girl, He is

True Jersey Girl, He is personally pro-life (he's an OB-GYN), but he wants the states to have the right to decide. "I think the Roe v. Wade situation was a big mistake and the states ought to have the right to decide on the issue, so I would deny jurisdiction to the federal courts on abortion issues," Ron Paul said. Now, I wouldn't want my state to criminalize abortion either, and if that's your issue- I understand. But please know that he doesn't want the federal government dictating any such decisions to states that may want different. That's different than wanting federal gov to ban abortion. He's pro-choice for the states- give them the choice...

Right on Pantheon. Here's

Right on Pantheon. Here's the way I understood it: Moral and ethical issues are tricky things and therefor should not be regulated on the federal level. The more murky they, get the lower the level they should get to (more local).
